Allan was on his way to a concert in Bermuda, stopping off in New York for a few days when the World Trade Centre was attacked by terrorists on September 11. He was in midtown at the time, and therefore safely out of harm's way. As most flights were cancelled for several days, his departure for Bermuda was delayed until the Sunday after the attack.

It was the fifth time Allan had played a concert in Bermuda, and this one was no exception to the others - a great success.

Shortly after returning to Britain, it was off again, this time to Austria. Allan and Christian Koelbl played two concerts together and the reception was such that they have been asked to make some concerts around the same time next year. For details contact Christian - email: christian.koelbl@A1PLUS.at. His website address is: http://www.christian-koelbl.at/

Latest News, from the Skagen Festival, Denmark, July 8, 2001

The Saturday afternoon concert on the main stage was a great success with every performer doing two or three songs, backed by all and sundry. There were never less than eight musicians on stage and very often more than twenty! Allan sang with Tom Paxton on "Last Thing on My Mind," "Rambling Boy," and "Bottle of Wine."
Allan played the Sunday concert with Ralph McTell and "The Dylan Project" - one and a half hours' worth of Dylan songs played by Dave Pegg, Simon Nicol, Gerry Conway (all of Fairport Convention), Steve Gibbons and P.J Wright. Allan joined the band for the encore and sang "When I Paint My Masterpiece." Allan was heard to say words to the effect that it was great to play with the band again and wants to join!

As usual, the festival ended with Allan's song, "It's Good to See You," which for the last ten years or so has been the festival song.

Latest News as of April 24, 2001

Over the last few days (21-24 April) Allan has been in a recording studio in Germany helping Peter Ratzenbeck make his first CD for Stockfisch Records. Chris Jones (who played on Allan's last two CDs) was there to lend a hand as well and although much wine and beer was drunk the result was a collection of fine recordings of Peter's work.

From now until September Allan will be taking a break from touring with just the occasional concert planned (see Tours page). The Autumn tour through Europe encompassing Austria, Germany, Belgium and Holland looks already to be an intense tour which will last between eight and ten weeks.
